once upon a time

Somewhere around the late 1990s. The settlement located quite far from the town. Not far when u drive on your machines on the wheel. There were few houses in concrete and bricks, very few and not old too. Not close to each other either. They had two characters in common. one, every house had neem trees at the entrance, which gave enough shade and chillness and the second, they were calm and deserted. The place was hot, really hot during summer and all because of the sun, the permanent member in the settlement. Equally the rain showed it fondness towards the people. Not always, but it filled the ground whenever it showered. The soil was red, red soil and all the foots carried the red dust to home and sometimes the dress of the kids too strained with it.
There were not much population. How much population do you expect from the settlement of 7 or 8 houses?! very few... but there were enough open spaces... they can be called open grounds, thats how the kids call them... Ground! After every rain, they saw clear rainbow, till it touches the ground somewhere far. Sometimes the people can see the hill clearly when the early sun hits the hill. Won't you feel surprised to see a hill clearly, which is 30kms far from your doorstep? The ground will carry green grass and plants, unknown plants after every rain. They increased the aesthetic look of the surroundings. And they enjoyed the wind and breeze traveling through the open spaces into their home through small windows.
Earlier i told that the place was calm, but it was not always... Not every evening and weekends. There were enough kids in the settlement to make ground active. Not all are kids! few in their primary classes and few from the higher classes. Tall and dark, short and sweet, fair and sensitive, the active girl, the brilliant, fast, lazy etc etc. They had everything among them. They were a group of nearly ten, from different places and religions and lifestyle. But they had something in common... Nothing but Cricket. Cricket is the common religion of India and for them too. They were fans of Azarudhin, the captain then.., Sachin, all time blaster,.. Sourav, the young hitter and don't wonder... there were fans of Afridi, Michael beven, Brett lee, Warne, Lara and many more foreign players too.
They spent almost all the evenings and weekends in ground. The grounds of different sizes. The small, in which telephone post was the stump. Pretty okay kind of ground in which the stumps were the 3 black lines on the side wall of the house. And the large one, which is far bigger than the international stadium.
They made teams among them, they fought well for their victory. They had fight, revenge, victory, losses, anger, smile... everything that the kids of their ages have. They had the records of breaking the windows and cars too. And when they played opposing other team from neighbor areas, they were not the same and they were together to fight. They had enough movies to see, enough topics to talk, enough new games to try, enough exams to write...
they enjoyed their life as it was... without any target, without feeling for future... Their sounds heard everywhere with the sounds of birds, with the sounds of frogs in rain waters, with the sounds of wind that dashes on trees and window curtains...
When the days rolled on, year after year, the sounds reduced.
Kids are not kids anymore, the plants then are trees now. And the grounds are filled with buildings. concrete and bricks... and no place to play and no kids with bat.
And now, to see the far hill, i have to climb to my terrace but i see only the top of hill...
I miss those days. But can't get back to it. Some days in future, i may tell this as a story to my grand children... if they are free from their laptops!!!

I was chatting with my childhood friend Karthick (one from our gang i mentioned above). Our chat remained me the olden days. Here it is,,, some of those memories and many more inside me.

Dedicated to all my friends... Karthick, Raji, Ravi, Jeeva, Sathik, vikky, dhinu, my bros, puppy, kumar and bros and many more...

P.S. And sorry if i used too many "they were".

First year anniversary celebration of AAZRAYA

March 22, 2009... one of my memorable day of my life. That was the day i joined aazraya to help the needy. Also i got more friends and felt more fun with them... In a month time i will be celebrating the day... Before... Aazraya(we) celebrated our first anniversary day on 21st of feb, 2010 @ New life charitable trust, Erayuir village... I know it is bit late to blog about the celebration, but am happy atleast i can write it now. Though Aazraya was helping the needy for more than couple of years, we completed a year now after officially registering. This day was another memorable day with aazraya,.. Though i could not spend more time but i enjoyed... With so much of kids from New life, Saradha Sevashram and my fellow friends members, do i need to explain the fun?!
Some of the highlights from the celebration...
  • Our chairman Vinod's speech about Aazraya... he is good in speech now a days and his way of introducing the members to guests was good, i enjoyed it... also i don't want to miss Sri vidhya's speech in tamil on "Aazraya and me"... She was excellent and she told what i felt too...
  • Mr.Muthuram, founder of Suyam charitable trust had unique way of presenting the kids and gathering with a song and dance... His presentation was unique and the kids enjoyed a lot.
  • The culturals were few and best. The folk dance by a group of girls, classical dance by the kid Shakthi, the Dhooma chale by fellow member Sreleekha(the choreographer for the dances above), Shoban sab's flaring(soon u can see him in a kollywood movie song if everything goes well)... I enjoyed every programs and the best was the kid Shakthi's dance. Won't you feel amazing if a kid dance well practicing just only one day for it?! Soon i will update the videos here.
  • It will sound weird if i tell i enjoyed the programs in evening sun, but yeah! the loved the evening sun, it helped me to click some pictures of kids. The sun changed the hue and i few pictures came up well.
  • The smile on the face of the kids when they carried make ups done by our trust girls... Am sure they will remember the day ever... Thanks to make up specialists for making the kids smiling and beautiful.
  • I felt really happy and comfortable to meet the old members/friends after quite long time... And felt good to have new members too.
Everyone felt like we were back to our school days and college days... Won't you feel the same if you have a gang of kids and friends around, also with chance to cheer up the dancers?!?! The first year celebration was amazing.

My friends cum members Viky, Dilip and Velu had come up with seperate blog for Aazraya. To know more about the celebration, click here.

P.S.

And Subas, i will take you to the trust next time. Sorry i couldn't this time.

Red hued cute pictures in magazine, news papers, web pages... romantic songs and music everywhere... and there are lot more reasons too...

But i wonder! may be you too, if u r a guy who is reading...

Love is always expressed only by guys huh?
I didn't see any single article about love written by a girl, in a weekly magazine!
I wonder!
May be am wroing, but this is what i witnessed ;P

Fine, i have a wish for long time... to write a post in Thamizh. But I don't have an idea how to write here in thamizh... i mean without errors!

the vast beautiful ventilator

This place is not a new to me... I used to come here whenever possible... But this time it is different, Everything is different... this place is the end of the world! for me, Whenever i return from this place, i feel like i vented out all my feelings. I return like a new soul...
This place is nothing but a Beach... yeah! for me this is the end of the world, i see no land from the place i stand... i guess u too!
Not in the late afternoon... in the beach far from the city, i stand in the elevated shore, leaving the sun behind me... looking straight to the water, the end of the world... my shadow stretched to touch the sea water that tries to reach the shore...
I stand still, looking at nothing but a blue painted clear sky, and the vast surface of water that reflects the fellow sky... the sea water rolled towards me but drained back without touching me...
Looking to my left, i find my friends playing... far from me. I find none near!... no one for quite a good distance...
Feeling the breeze from the sea i bend myself to sit on the shore... sitting, my hand start to wave the sand...
Taking a hand full of sand, i start to count them... soon i lost the count, its impossible...No! its not impossible, its possible... but its infinity... endless! This is how my love for you is... its infinity, endless! i told showing the sand to the sea...
The sound of the waves and the breeze pretends like answering me in joy... Happy that U understood me...
I started to shout out my feel for everything... from my family to my job... all about my love for them to hectic job that kick me... about everything in my life... i vented out my feel...
Pretty soon... everything is fine, everything in my life...
I stand to walk back to my friends, smiling at the sea... singing to myself...
and there hE stand! smiling at me and not far from me... this man, i know him very well, close by heart... surprise to see him... he could have heard me?!?! before i get the answer, he started to move far from me, in opposite direction... leaving the foot prints...

P.S. Thanks to Caarthick for his click :)
